Can Flat India Bounce Back?

Down 2-0 with two Tests to play, how will India respond? They came to England as the number one Test side in the world but haven’t played like it and now run the risk of the English capturing that title.

Injuries haven’t helped their cause and they have lost Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj Singh for the remainder of the series.
Virender Sehwag missed the first two tests but should return as will Gautam Gambhir.

Rahul Dravid has been playing a lone hand for India and has 262 runs from the two Tests. VVS Laxman is the next best Indian with 124, but as a wholem the team just haven’t coped well with the conditions or the spicy English bowing; even Sachin Tendulkar is struggling. In Kevin Pietersen, Matt Prior, Ian Bell there are three Englishmen whot have over 200 runs whilst Stuart Broad has an impressive 182.

Broad is having a fantastic series and hit a series high of 15 wickets including a hat-trick. Praveen Kumar has bowed well and is the next best with 13.

Simply put, India have been outplayed in every department of the game. They won both tosses but chose to field first both times which backfired. The third Test at Edgbaston will indicate if they are going to be able to mount a serious comeback or whether they have no fight left to give – watch this space and enjoy!
