600 Homeruns… and Counting

They have produced some of baseball’s most revered players and have had a virtual monopoly over hall of fame players since their inception. Well, get ready to add another all time great player to that list, Alex Rodriguez.
Rodriguez became the seventh slugger to reach 600 home runs and now he is only 10 homers away from catching Sammy Sossa’s mark for sixth place on the all time home run list. At 35, A-Rod is the youngest player to hit 600 home runs, comparable to only Babe Ruth, who reached his 600 at 36.
There is a dash of controversy however surrounding the New York native. Rodriguez admitted to using steroids while playing with theTexas Rangers (2001-2003), during which time he crushed 156 home runs. Read More »
