Wimbledon 2010 is preparing to impress once again. Slated to begin on June 21, the British tennis tournament will display the class and skill of Roger Federer, the top favourite, searching for his 7th title at SW19. However, his recent losses – an early exit from the Rolland Garros and the crushing defeat to Lleyton Hewitt at ATP Halle – could have some other big rivals thinking about taking the prestigious trophy.

For starters there is Rafael Nadal to contend with. His impressive win in France proved that Nadal has overcome the injuries he suffered from last year, and once again found his lethal rhythm, which could very well bring him a second Wimbledon title. After the epic final between these two arch-rivals in 2008, in what is considered one of tennis’ best games in history, no one would mind another final meeting between the two superstars.

Andy Murray will once again try to handle the pressure, as the Brits continue to hope for a home win – something that hasn’t happened since Fred Perry in 1936.

The women’s tournament promises a lot of excitement as well after the surprising results in Paris.

The Williams sisters will try to retain their dominance, but they’ll receive a fierce battle from the two Belgians Henin and Clijsters, as well as Sharapova, Jankovic and the Rolland Garros winner and finalists Schiavone and Stosur. For the first time in quite a while, the championship is once again up for grabs.
